I've done some searches on this and found several closed threads, but what the heck, let's bring it back. Has anyone modded the Rocker hand grenade coil? If so, I'd love to see some pics!
Bringing this waaaaaaaay back from the dead, but the last post has me thinking. Is it even possible to chrome the coil? From the service manual it looks like the grenade part is not just a cover that could be removed and chromed. Wouldn't the chroming process hurt the coil, or at least the contacts for the plug wires?
I have seen the write ups on that one and others. They look great but prob more work than I want to take on at the moment. I want to keep a coil that has the ISS so I don't have to do a dyno tune (that will be down the road with other mods). Are there other Harleys that coils utilize the ISS that I could use that look better than the grenade?
I did a cover, round and with a skull attachment if you click on Duluth and check my posts it should come up for you.
It is very easy to put a cover over the grenade about 11/2 hours work, if interested i will pull it off this weekend and take pictures to walk you through modifying something to cover the grenade.
I actually don't think I would mind the look of the grenade if it were chrome, just not sure it's possible to chrome it. If not then I may go the cover route.
