Does anyone know how long should it take to remove the stock speedometer from a 2005 Softail Deluxe and replace with the combination speedometer/tachometer?
I was told by one place that it is a simple unplug the old and plug in the new.
Another one tells me that it could be as long as 1.5 hrs?
30 minutes is right on. Make sure to cover your tank with something to protect from scratches while you have the console off. The old speedometer is removed by pushing it from the inside out; rather than the other way - which seemed odd to me. Anyway, one beer job.
FatBoy2fiveO - What fender / strut set-up are you using? I have the 240 conversion with a high-end strutless fender. With two up riding I'm starting to see a crack in the fender where it mounts to the strut mounting points.
