Default HELP!!! Rear Turn signal question

I did a search and found no direct answer. I need to replace my rear turn signal (thanks Mother Nature). Will I need to remove that strut completely? And if so what wrench do I use? I have read where those stock bolts on the struts are a bitch to remove. any insight or tips would be great. I have the docking hardware on the rear turn signal if that matters

On my 2008 Fatboy, I removed the rear signals with a bolt from the inside of the fender. I didn't have to remove any strut bolts.

Also, later on I replaced my strut bolts with chromed bolts. They were tight, but I didn't have any problem with them.

I have done it both ways (removing and not removing the struts). imho it's not a big deal to remove the struts and makes installing the turn signals a lot easier. The strut bolts do have locktight on them, but they ain't that bad. Use a heat gun or soldering to heat them up and break them loose.

there is a thread in the forum about this on an 07 and a video. if i remember right you have to loosen the strut to get to the back of the bolt on the 07. if you cant feel it you cant remove it.
