Default Rear turn signal removal

How do you remove the rear turn signals from the struts on a 07 Fatboy?

Its a little easier to have the bike on a jack. It gives you more room to reach in and remove the wires from there place at hold. You need to remove the strut from the bike. Then once off you can see the bolt that removes the directional. Its actually inside the strut. You need to remove the rear tail light lense and remove the plugs with the violet and black wires. Then snake them out through the hole in the fender.

Yup just like CycleDridersaid, remove your struts (one at a time so you dont mess up your fender) and the signals are held on by a bolt on the back side. Not hard at all. But if you are going to take them off completly, do yourself a favor and get some chrome button head bolts and some nylock nuts to fill in the 2 holes that they leave behind, thats what I did.

I tried taking off the strut but the wire to the signal doesn't have enough slack to get at the bolt holding the signal light. Any suggestions?

You need to unplug the light at the rear tail light. Remove the tail light and you'll see the connections. Also there are tabs that the wire's are affixed to inside the fender. Just slip the wires out from them.
