Default Fatboy seat problem? Help!!!

Hey Guys,
I've got a 2005 Fatboy and I recently purchased a Screaming Eagle seat that can be used as a solo seat with a chrome tailpiece over the fender or add the passenger pillion for 2 up riding. I purchased this seat from an individual on eBay for a good price ( these things are about $1000 form the stealer). Here's the problem; the seat and passenger pillion fit fine but when I try to out the tailpiece on the bracket doesn't line up under the seat and the mounting hole does not line up with the hole in the fender (it's about 1" too far back)?
It seems like I read about this somewhere a long time ago before I had this style seat. Anybody got ideas?
As always, thanks for the response!

Drill a new hole. the s/e fatboy has a wider tire, therefore a different fender. I would imagine that is the reason it does not bolt right on.

I wolud agree if not for the fact that the passenger pillion fits fine. The holes in the bracket lines up with the studs in the seat and the rear mounting hole lines up with the hole in the fender. It's alomst like this is the wrong tailpiece but as far as I can tell they should be the same. I think they only put these seats on 05 and 06 Fatboys according to what I've found so far these models are the same?

Maybe you just need to tweak it a little. I am a bit unclear on what doesn't line up. Post some pics so we can actually see what yoau re talking about.

I purchased a large two-up off a fatboy? for my nightrain for roadtrips. When i first tried to install it, I thought the rear hold was off an inch but it turned out I was not seating the front tab into the mount by the gas tank correctly. I have to "flex" the seat a little and push down hard on the front before pushing the seat forward and it goes up much further and allows me to get that screw into the back tab hole.

Good luck.
JK

if you have to re-drill, i'd re-drill the holes where the bracket attaches to the seat. as long as you still have access to the thumb screw.

The bracket on the chrome tailpiece doesn't line up with the studs on the seat either. I'm wondering if there is a difference between a 2005 Fatboy and a 2006 Fatboy and if I have a 2005 seat and a 2006 chrome tailpiece? Something isn't right.

2006 Screaming Eagle has a 200mm wide tire and wide fender. if the hole is outside the pinion you can get an extention that will make it reach.
