87' 1340 question

just bought my 87 softail custom. just wondering if the 1340 on an 87 is any different than a newer 1340. cuz i was looking for a new willie g style derbie cover. they said in the add that it fits 99' and later 1340's. just wondering if it's hard to find custom parts for my bike. seems like everything that i like only fits new bikes.

Check e-bay there is quite a few older parts there. Not so many from the MoCo anymore. They are like the car makers, it seems after 10 years old they delete and obslete most older parts

Learn to be friends with the J&P catalog, Jireh.com and the like. Those old (snicker, snicker) evo motors are like the plague to most at the dealership. Find you a good indy mechanic that knows where the bones are buried and you and that bike will have a long & happy...
