He is an actual owner of an anniversary bike. Why he doesn't have a set is the question. Maybe he bought the bike used and it didn't have them on it when he bought it and he would like the bike to have the original emblems. Maybe I'm missing something.

I have a set, I'm asking $150 ? Was actually getting ready to put them on ebay? Do you have a paypal account? They are in excellent condition. If you are interested I could post some good close ups for you to check them out before you pay. Let me know, just reply to this post.

An HD mechanic I know told me any HD dealership that gets caught selling them without either having one turned into them or having a police report detail their theft is hit with a $5k per badge fine. I have an '03 FXSTSI and the front fender got dented. I got it repaired and repainted, but to get the tape I have to send it (the fender) back to Harley Davidson; they wont even give the tape (striping) to the dealership. If you sell your badges thats your call; they belong to you, but you may be helping someone else decieve a prespective buyer and helping cheat that buyer out of more money thinking they are getting an anniversary bike when they are not... your call, your concience.

But you can always tell by the vin whether or not it's a 2003.
And you need a 2003 to make a fake 2003....which is ridiculous.

Even if you were to badge a 04, it's still just that....an 04

I see them on EBAY all the time, BUT I will never leave my 03 Duece parked anywhere unattended , cause I know those emblems will be sprung by some low life.

However, I got a slightly scratched tank off Ebay complete with emblems for cheap !

I also heard HD dosen't repaint any 03s Is that correct?

2003 engines have a distinctive emblem cast into them. Not all 2003's came with the tank badges, some came with regular paint and decals with the anniversary badge. I don't know if 2003 fire or police had the emblems eother.
