The standard is the better deal with the pipes ,bars, and inverted forks. I would only consider the train if you want the blacked out look. If not... Your miles ahead of the game with the standard and the price their asking is fair.
It's going on three years since I bought my Standard. We go everywhere
and no complaints on the way she handles. I can take on any of the twisties, or cruise down the interstate for miles & miles. I think the best mod I have done is the Progressive shocks by far.
unless your seat and bars have already been found for a cheap amount be prepared to spend atleast $500. to get it the way you want. what bike did you originally want, or go looking for? go with that one you will be happier in the long run.
My son traded his 07 Duece for new NT last month and I believe they got 15.5k for it. 4 days after they got it. had 3600 miles and stage1 + 204's, V&H BR2-2 and a lot of extras.
Glad to see ya lookin at softails. I commented in your tread in the sportster forum, I think you'll be much happier with the softail ,especially on 2up rides.
You'll love either of the bikes you mentioned, just figure out which one turns you on the most and buy it.

These forums and eBay are great sources for parts. My Carlini Bars were found on eBay ($300 retail, bought for $125). Night Train seat- eBay ($50), Danny Gray Buttcrack Solo seat- HD Forums ($200)....I love good deals!

No doubt there. My bike is "Piecemealed" together with a hodgepodge of parts from forums and E-Bay which I typically get bought for a fraction of the dealership or drag specialties prices.

+1.....I agree. Ifyou went lookin for another bike it will allways be yankin on ya! Test ride em and thoroughly think about it. Once you buy and do the mods you want good chance you wont get your $$ back out of it. JMO!
are there any turn signals on the front of the stanard you are looking at? how many miles are on it? are the pipes the only thing that has been upgraded motor wise? has it been remapped or dyno tuned? just a few questions
