I love the look of this engine guard ( link below)
My question to anyone who has this 'mustache engine guard'; How far is the reach to the foot-rest on the bar? Is it just above the brake pedal or further forward?
before I order this guard, I need to know if I will be able to reach it. I have short legs but like I said...I love this particular guard.
i like that one too. but i also like this one from kuryakyn. says in the directions if you have extended brake pedal or shifters, they might hit. the mustache one from harley is cool though, but on the standard ones, you can put highway pegs on them and your legs will be more spread apart than the mustache. pricey for the Kuryakyn though!

thanks for the link...I like the kuryakyn but stil prefer the Harley 'mustache' bar. But because the foot 'rests' on the Harley guards are not adjustable...they must be 'right'.
I fear ordering the guard and then not being able to reach the foot rests.
I have the bar you are interested in and it does look good. I don't put my feet up on them much. I am 5'11" and the reach is ok, but seems like my legs are too close in (if you know what I mean). I ended up putting the harley short offset bracket on with footpegs and it seems to work well. The reach was too far with just putting regular clamp on footpegs on that bar. If I had to do it all over, I probably would of preferred the nostalgic bar. But they do look nice and after adding the bracket/pegs it does give you a lot of options as far as stretchin out.
I had one on my Fatboy. The footrests on top of the bar were not comfortable for me so I added clamps and foot pegs off the sides, then it was very comfortable.
I ended up removing it and using Cruise Arms, It is now for sale, it is powdercoated gloss black with billit pegs and mounts for $ 100.00, Im in the LA, Ca area.
I liked it too until I got a heavy breather and I couldn't put my foot back on the rest. I had to switch it out for standard guard and highway pegs. Also if you ever plan on getting those nifty fog lights they won't go on a mustache. I have my old one for sale, $40+shipping? It is pretty new, prolly only 2k miles on them and never dropped or whatever. Let me know I'll take pics of it, I was going to put them on ebay or something...
My two videos below show the guard hehe, man I need to update those vids.
