rent one for the weekend. also if you are going to have a babe on back you need to get lugage so she can shop.
as far as the engine heat a good stage 1 with dyno tune or thundermax. If you go thundermax you can add other things later and dont have to worry about another dyno tune. and yes i have a removeable backrest, pinion seat and saddle bags.
Every person has a lil different taste,..... thats why they have more than one model of Harley. BUT,..... with that said, the Fatboy will give the smoothest ride for solo or for two-up riding. Also, the list of stuff that you can get for a Fatboy is almost limitless. I have owned an 06 Dyna and I have an 09 Fatboy and the Fatboy is the most comfortable of the two. There are many differences between the two bikes,................ like others have suggested try and test ride em both.
I have an 08 fxdc, and a 09 Fatboy. love em both! Fxdc for fun aggressive twisties days and the fatty for cruising. I would ride both it is sort of like going from a sport car to caddy... aggressive in the turns to a smooth cruise...

Reason: both /booth
I saw a Flame blue fatboy today at the dealer. They're asking $16,734 plus tax. Add another $1100 for stage 1, rush slip ons and air cleaner, pretty tempting.
You sit on a dyna, you sit in a fatboy. Fatboy has better ride, at the expense of handling. I considered both, a few years ago. I went with the fatboy. It all depends on your tastes. I think softails are sexier bikes. Just do not buy a deuce.

that is alot by Texas prices, also for about $1000 you can get the rush slip ons and a big sucker abd a thundermax with auto tune
thats a great deal. i will allways take exception to the do nothing with exhaust only as even a stock 07 or newer runs 14.8 afr and that makes too lean and run too hot to ride comfortable. I rode my new bike one day and waited 3 days untill i found out how to cool it for under $1 and then rode it 5000 miles untill i had funds for stage 1 and fuel management.
I Rode a Street glide this afternoon and loved it. Rode the fatboy friday and loved that as well.
After thinking hard about it I am counting out the superglide custom. I have always wanted a fatboy or street glide. I was looking at $$$ instead of what would make me happy.
I will look for a used 07 or 08 street glide or a 08 or 09 fatboy. I like the two bikes and both have pluses and minuses that equal each other out. So it all depends on what i find first.
