I've been going back and forth on a few different ideas for my 05 Fatboy. I like my bike but I am really liking the Night Trains more and more. I have an opportunity to pick up an 08 Night Train for $8,000.00 with 6K miles. This is a great deal but it is also a lot of money at the time. The other option is giving my Fatty a makeover. So far I've ordered a few things for the FB and I still dont know if this is what I want to do. I don't want to end up converting my bike to look like a NT and its going to end up not being one or the other.
My current setup has a lot of chrome and I want to change some of the parts to black to see if I will be ok with the outcome.
I have a few other mods in mind like a Heartland 2 five 0 wide tire kit. drag bars ...
Tonight I started changing out my front end from chrome to black and I am trying to decide wether to go all black or leave a few parts in chrome. I am going to put up a few pics of my bike in its current state and as I go along.
Here are a few pics of my current setup...

8 grand for an 08' Train??? Is that an outright sale?
Salvage title or clean?
Forget the makeover of the Train has a clean title spend the 8 grand, wax the sumbitch up nice and purty and put it on E-Bay. 08's Train will get a 12-13K in a jiff especially since they are being discountinued in 2010 and lots of folks love them some train!!!
Forget the mods for now and go into business man mode.

Seriously.
I agree with this. $8K for a clean/clear '08? Outright steal! Let me know where it is.
i think the 8k was the difference of the tradein. better to upgrade the fatboy and make it custom and yours. If you owe the bank better to pay it off, if paid off then keep.
Yeah, upgrade the Fatty. But PLEASE, tell me where you can get an 08 Nightrain for 8K. I was looking at trains recently and the best I could find was an 02 for 10K.
Hell you can sell your Fatboy and pocket some serious cash if this is right. Somehow I have a hard time believing that price........
The more I think about it, I keep leaning towards the NT. It already comes with a 200mm rear tire, a 95ci motor, and all the black you can think of. for a great price. and like you said, I can sell the FB and make a killing. I cant let this pass wether I keep one or the other.
