I have been waiting for something dumb like this to happen, kinda like forgetting to put the kick stand down. Yesterday I hoped on my bike in a hurry to leave campus to get home and go fishing. I fired the bike up and kicked it down to first and had to make an immediate left from where I was parked i made the left went to straighten up and couldn't. I left the dang forks locked and by the time I realized it my riding position was already up right and did a driveway drop on the right side of the bike on my schools campus, thankfully only one person saw it and asked if I was ok. I said yah tossed the bike back on the rubber unlocked the forks this time and rode away. Got home and checked the damage, I scraped the V&H front pipe cover and end cap ($215 for them) and put a nick on the bar end cap and break pedal pad ($45). Pretty expensive screw up for being in a hurry, I just scraped my elbow and bruised my ego pretty good but I guess crap happens. Now I just want to get it fixed and get it sold(I was planning to sell it already). How many other people have done something stupid like this?

I`m confused here. If your forks were locked to the left and you were turning left, and already past center in a left hand turn, How did you drop it on the right side...???
Am I missing somethin'...???
I was planning on selling the bike already, and didnt want to spend any more money on it.
When i went to straighten the bike out from the left turn i was already up-right in my riding position before i realized I left them locked. Which threw me to the right Sorry for the confusion
I thought those guys who put those silly little tethers on their wheel locks were just wasting their time.... Nope, i of course was just goin to just do a short hop on the bike.. come to find out very short run. Stopped dead an my track and dropped it, thank god it was just minor damage and the rotor was fine, but i learned my lesson.
I have since even laid the bike down in gravel talk about damage, but sell it ?? Never!! its getting rebuilt as we speak and i will be right back on it. Louder nastier and hopefully faster.
