Thinking of HD "Quick release" detachable windshield for my 08 FXSTC. Like the no "leave-behind" docking hardware attachement but wondering if those 4 fork clip-on attachements will do the job on the long run..................
Anyone been riding with that windshield for a while ?
I like mine . But, I do not take it off very often . My clamps are tight . I had to shave some rubber to get them around my Cerani forks . Scared of breaking one .
They work quite nicely. I did manage to break one of the hinges on the clamp but thats when I had a little "incident" in the garage involving my parked truck and some sand. One of those clamps runs about $40 some bucks.
I use one and like it quite a bit. One of the clamps did leave behind a scuff on my fork tube, which is definitely a bummer, but its not too noticeable.
I have had one since I bought my fatty new in '07. No issues, and it makes my rides much more enjoyable than getting beat by the wind,& +1 when a patch of clouds decides to drop some precip too.

I've had mine for two years. Never had a problem to date and I'm putting on/ taking off several times a week during riding season. -stef

+2 I have had mine for 2 seasons. I have no complaints. Just watch for the rubber on the clamps. It tends to shift and may eventually fall out. Overall though, it's a nice shield. I would certainly recommend it
I have one, and I like it. Its great to pop it on and off depending on the ride you want... wind in your hair and bugs in your teeth is possible, or the joy of practically riding in a convertible with just slight wind and no bugs
