You betcha and I don't think Mag is the way to go, since I don't want a friggin' flamming floor board.

I have actually been looking into Magnesium with a little net research and it sounds like it shouldn't all burn at once. Apparently they use magnesium skid plates under Formula 1 cars that are designed to scrape a lot because the cars are so low to the ground. This info is from "Magnesium" by Colin Uttley. I found it online. Only the parts that are in contact with the ground burn away. I think I'm gonna try to get some magnesium plates and bolt them to my boards. I'll risk them catching on fire. I don't think it's gonna happen. Why would lowriders use them if the whole thing catches fire at once?

If it doesn't work then I'll just go to titanium.

I think titanium is a better option but I would bet it's a lot more expensive.

How about instead of a big chuck or titanium... have some type of holder with replaceable nubs... then you could sell different nubs depending on what the owner wanted to do...
magnesium... titanium... or what ever you thought would work best...
I'm sure some would buy them (if the price was right) to use to protect there boards...

I think that if its in the correct place it would do the job...

I would hate to get home and see on the news that there are wildfires all along the route I just rode but I would like to be added to the list for more sparks please.

We could weld some sparklers to the edge of the boards and you could just light them before you start riding. Some sort of endless sparkler so it would stay lit for the entire ride.
