Before I bought my Fatboy I swore the first thing I was going to do was get rid of the floorboards, that was until I rode it the first time I love being able to move my feet anyplace I want them. I just put highway pegs on to stretch my legs out on longer rides.

I never want pegs again. I can move my feet around which changes my position enough to help avoid fatigue. The half moons I put on here have rubber spacers so vibration is almost non-existent. And they just plain look good.

The scraping is fun too. I'm sad if they don't scrape on a turn. (must lean further next time)

Welcome to the forum.

I put boards on for the passenger, as my ex wife couldn't keep her boot off the pipes. I solved the problem by putting the boards on and getting a divorce. Expensive, but problem solved.

My daughter says it's much more comfortable back there with the boards.

Besides the comfort and all that, Harley has used boards for forever. And I mean forever. From what I've been able to dig up, Harley's first bike to have floorboards was on the 1914 Model 10C. Before that they didn't even have any place to put your foot besides the pedals (they all had pedal assist), so boards were the first fixed foot placement device to be added to one of their bikes. And, again from what I've been able to find, it seems like Harley used boards almost exclusively for a long time after that.

History lesson over. Boards f'ing rule.

The boards are better than the seat for doing this as seats are smooth and stuff can slide off due to the lean angle of the bike when it's on the Jiffy stand. Boards have rubber and hold items in place better.
What should I do if my small items fall off? Should I pick them up? What if they land in a mud puddle? Will my lighter still work if it gets wet from the mud puddle? Suppose the motorcycle starts up unexpectedly, I heard Harleys shake real bad, my stuff might fall off from all the shaking. And maybe it might shake one of the pistons loose, can you pick up a hot piston with your bare hands? How hot do they get? Maybe if I wait a while it would cool off, or I could pick it up with gloves, yeah, thats it, I will get gloves. Will gloves void my warranty? If they do then I'm not going to get them, I think, maybe I will.
