I'm trying to imagine you at the dealership when you bought that new Train not negotiating in some freebie oil changes....Its hard to imagine Sasha!!!

That being said I use the Harley synthetic stuff in the motor its 20-50http://www.harley-performance.com/amsoil-svg.html Had the previous owner not used that stuff i would be using Amsoil as well. I think I bought into the stick with the same oil forever line of thinking without having many facts to back up why I should be doing that. I just alweays have. One motor. One oil.

My tranny is filled with Amsoil severe gear synthetic gear lube.http://www.harley-performance.com/amsoil-svg.html The bike shifts better IMO and since I have a stage 3 build I was looking for something with the words "Extreme" or "Severe" whatever the derned marketing can sucker me right in with some clever wording!! It had the Syn3 in it. But I'm not bought into the one tranny one oil school of thought in that cavity.

I have the same 20-50 SYN HD oil in my motor, free oil changes came with the bike, but Mobil 1 V-Twin oil is great too. I have the same oil in the trans and primary right now, I am going to change the trans to Redline, also use Harley oil filter, I just don't like aftermarket filters for anything I've seen too many failures of aftermarket filters. not on bikes but cars too. I did mine at 1000, 3000, and will again at 5000

I run Mobil1 20W-50 in the engine and Primary, and Redline Heavy Duty in the tranny. I like the redline a lot. I change the engine oil every 3K, and the tranny and primary every 6K. That oil is never in contact with combustion and is always clean at the change. Good luck. I want to try Castrol 20W-50, but its $13 a quart. I use the Mobil1 cause it can be found on the shelf at AutoZone. Amsoil is readily available at some stores, and have never heard a bad thing about it, except how much damn advertising they do!
