Default Swing arm bag

Does anyone use a swing arm bag and still have a side mount license plate? Is that even possible? I have a 2006 Nightrain and I want to have some type of smaller bag without going to saddle bags. If you have a suggestion I would like to hear it.

As long as you plan on leaving the swingarm bag on and its wide enough, why not just mount the plate on the backside of the bag, sideways of course. That would look sweet I think.

I just measured the plate and back of my swingarm bag from HOG Deluxe. The plate is 4" x 7" and the bag is exactly 4" wide. If you attach the plate so the top is right where the flap starts the bottom of the plate would be about 3/4" below the bottom of the flat back of the bag, where it begins to curve to the bottom. You might even be able to bend the bottom portion of the plate so it follows the bottom curve of the bag.
If I havent confused you yet Id be suprised, cause after reading this Im confused and I did all the measuring and explaining.

Yes a swing arm license plate mount frame will fit with a swing arm bag. You will have to move the bag forward an inch or so but it will fit and still leave enough room for the passenger to put their feet on the pegs. check my pics

I have the Leatherworks 312X & the license plate bracket mounted on rear axle. No problem.

It works with an axle mount side plate also.

Top Down Products has the answer...

...a license plate mount that fits directly off the rear axle and will rotate between horizontal and vertical without needing any tools.

I'm from Top Down Products and we have a truly unique and versatile product. Our mount is available in Chrome, Gloss or Flat Black Powder Coat. It fits virtually every make and model Harley and some non-HD's as well. Here are some pics of the product. Check out our website www.topdownpro.com for more details on the product and mounting options. For the Rocker, I recommend the Axle Mounting.

Any axle mount plate mount should work. Mine does.
