I recently picked up a side mounted plate holder for my Rocker from Road 6 Customs. I had Seth put a 5/16 hole in it for me thinking that I would put it on one of the belt guard bolts...well I was wrong and it wont fit...so then I thought how about the axle and I don't think that I want my plate back that far...so that leads me to the Pivot Shaft nut...has anyone done it this way before...is it even possible to do it this way...will I do more harm than good if I pull that nut off? I wouldn't think that the axle nut would work as the nut itself sits in a little and the frame of the license plate holder wont sit that far in with the nut...it just doesn't seem like a good fit to me. Any help on this matter will be greatly appreciated...thank you!!

Hey Dennis,
This is Dennis from Top Down Products. Although we sell our own License Plate Mount at www.topdownpro.com, we also have an Axle Mounting Kit for our Roto-Plate that may give to a solution. Take look at the attached pic of the mount. It is a direct replacement for your stock axle nut and provides a nice 1/2 threaded mounting point for your bracket.
That Roto-plate is pretty trick as is the Heartland mount but I've got a big problem spending $300 for a plate mount.. My el cheapo that was mounted to my upper belt guard mount was snapped off.. After a lot of searching and looking I decided I could make something for a lot less.. The Rocker swingarm is 1.5" at it's widest point so I bought a $7.95 1.25" mount bracket from Drag.. It's a 3 pc mount and that made it a lot easier to modify.. Beat and cut on it for about 2 hrs until it fit the swing arm perfectly.. Painted with some Krylon and bolted up.. I think it looks good and it's wicked solid.. It aint' breaking anytime soon.. I'll try to remember to take a pic tomorrow..
