it's a 99 fatty with a sealed bulb and I want to upgrade to something with a little more light, so will these lights fit? i don't know if the connector will work or not. will it fit in the stock housing? if not what do I need to make it work? or is their any other easier way to light up the road more?
thanks
Not sure if it would fit or not but anything that cheap tells me that it may not be worth the effort.
If you really want more light, but are in a bind for funds. Get a Sylvania Silverstar H4 bulb. Its a bunch brighter than the stocker at less than half the cost of that one you pointed out.
If you have the bucks and want a really bright light look into an HID conversion kit. They go for a bit over $300 so you better really want a lot of light if your going that way.
The middle of the road, pricewise would be a replacement bulb setup from someone like PIAA. They make good products, but like most other things, good doesn't come cheap. Especially if it has Harley anywhere in the name or description.
He has a sealed beam, so he cannot put in an h4 without swapping the innards of the light. I got a part from JC Whitney for my sealed beam it fit perfect. I don not know for sure on that one, but it did the trick for me. Looks like it will work. the one I got was about $10 and is still working fine. It has been about 3 years. I say get it. The sealed beam provide the worst light.
I think just upgrading to H4 standard would show a big improvement over sealed beam. Harley used to sell a kit for a reasonable price to do this. If they don't anymore it's just a matter of putting the right parts together. Do it today.
I was running a H7 HID set up for a while and took it out. No doubt it makes more pure white light than anything around, but because I was adapting something made for a car, I never felt I got the focused beams I wanted. Maybe just my eyes getting old.
