If you washed it first there shouldn't be any... oop's sorry just in a good mood and could resist... Never took one off but if U drain it I have used a pump they use for kerosene heaters and it works good..

Undo the bolts that hold it on. There are 2. Cut the fuel crossover and drain the gas. this is the hardest part. Get a new lone and some clamps for the new one. Pull off the dash and all the components. I think this is just one bolt although it has been a while. It takes a bit of time, but not too bad. Try to run it as close to to dry as you can first to ease in the removal of gas. I didn't do this but got a ciphon pump.
Use a hose crimp on one side. On the other side (fuel crossover) have a spare piece of fuel line with a bolt in it. After crimping one side of the crossover hose, pull the other side off and put the fuel line with a bolt to plug it. Remove the front bolt, remove the back bolt, remove the fuel line rom the petcock. Unbolt your dash, wrap it with a rag, drap it over the handler bar. You are done.
