Undo the bolts that hold it on. There are 2. Cut the fuel crossover and drain the gas. this is the hardest part. Get a new lone and some clamps for the new one. Pull off the dash and all the components. I think this is just one bolt although it has been a while. It takes a bit of time, but not too bad. Try to run it as close to to dry as you can first to ease in the removal of gas. I didn't do this but got a ciphon pump.

Use a hose crimp on one side. On the other side (fuel crossover) have a spare piece of fuel line with a bolt in it. After crimping one side of the crossover hose, pull the other side off and put the fuel line with a bolt to plug it. Remove the front bolt, remove the back bolt, remove the fuel line rom the petcock. Unbolt your dash, wrap it with a rag, drap it over the handler bar. You are done.

This is as long as you have the stock vacuum operated petcock.

If you know a medical worker see if you can get a couple of used hemostats. They make great clamps.

Don't forget to cover your rocker box covers with a rag or something to protect from scratching. Don't ask me how I know.
