Was just curious if anyone has tried increasing the rake or doing a 300 series tire mod yet. I have been thinking about add these and was curious to see how it'll turn out.
My rake was increased 4° with the inverted front end and I have a 260 on the rear. You can do a 300 but it envolves MAJOR welding and fab work; more than I thought it was worth. Figure on $11,000 MINIMUM for a 300 rear tired once you factor in the fab work, the wheel/tire combo, and the kit and transmission itself. For $4,000, you can run a 260. It was a simple cost/benefit analysis for me.

AME makes a 300 kit for $4500. Of course that doesnt include the wheels (tire is included though). Was thinking about doing that instead of the Heartland deal, but was just wanting to get some thoughts.
I was actually thinking about switching to a Big Dog K9. If I could go back, I probably would have. Could have came out cheaper than all the mods I want to do to the Rocker. But, of course it wouldnt be a Harley so I've settled on modding the rocker. I hope HD wakes up and realizes that so many are doing the Heartland kit and they go ahead and hardmount the fender to the frame in the future.

I'd be willing to be that future Rockers (or whatever they call it) will probably have a similar look to the Heartland kit.
You will be very happy you modded the rocker; go with the Heartland kit, remover the lower belt guard and runa 260 Metzler XXL 880; it looks like a 280 on the back and it so much less expensive!!!
That, and the inverted front end will give you a chopper look and won't break on you like the Big Dog.
I have had 2 friends with Big Dogs and both had electrical problems and were down significant time. Big Dogs look good but from what I have seen, they are not reliable and would be frustrating to own. On top of that, the dealers are dropping like flies. I would be concerned about dealer support.
The Rocker is a killer looking bike with just a few changes. The heartland kit looks great but so does just lowering the bike and changing the seat. I also prefer the 2 in tank lift.
In stock form, the bike just looks wrong and I couldn't believe Harley released it that way. But after following these threads in the forum, I have changed my mind about the Rocker. It doesn't take much to make it look killer and you have the painted frame and new oil tank. The oil tank looks trick compared to the other softails and since its aluminum and has the fins it should disappate heat better too. The frame and swing arm look great too.

Yeah, I guess if I can get away with that come out much cheaper. Guess the extra 40 isnt worth another 2k plus the price of wheels. But you have to admit, a 300 would look badass on the rocker haha.
I've had mine lowered for over a year now, rides rough as hell but I felt very uncomfortable with how the seat sat up in stock setting. Also, I have contacked jackyl about getting the 2in lift for the tank. I think the lines look much better with it.
Look at a deuce and look at a rocker with the heartland kit. You think these look the same?
Sure do. Look at a deuce with the heart land kit, and compare it to the rocker with the heart land kit. Same tank, front end, similar bars. The only real difference between the two is the speedo placement. Look at the thread below, and tell me you don't see a strong similarity between the Deuce, and the Rocker. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/softa...completed.html
