I have a 1998 Heritage Softail (carb). The bike runs great except shortly after warm up - ( I warm up the bike for about 5-7 minutes) the bike stumbles (backfires and such) for about a mile and then it behaves. After a couple of return trips to the Harley service department - they state that these older Evos are known for such issues. I just can't believe that!
I've had the following done to the bike in the last 3-5 months that may or may not be related. Rocker box gaskets (both jugs), choke cable replacement, timing sensor, intake & exhaust gasket replacement.
The bike has a stage one carb setup and a set of vance and highs straight shots (loud baffles).
