I had an 84 and the only problem I was aware of for that year was they were a little tight on clearance between the top of the piston and the valves. If you got a little too much carbon build-up it would start to make contact. They stuck a little flatter piston in mine and problem was gone with no noticeable effect on performance. Being the bike is as old as it is I'm sure that is not an issue for it.
It was a great bike wish I would have kept it.
