Default C&C on a Deluxe

On Monday I'm calling Chuck to order my seat but for the guys who already have one I have a question. Under the seat there are zipties holding some plastic channel with wires running through it. Have you guys cut the ties off and retie them to something else? I would buy the mid frame covers, but HD hasn't released them yet for the 08. Thanks.

If you are talking to the channel that is zip tied to the right side of the frame, it may have been done after it left the factory. I have an 07 and there was a recall on it. I took it in a year ago in January. All they did was add that little piece of plasitc channel around the wires. They had a problem with the wires rubbing on the frame and the insulation would rub off. Then the wire would arc out on the frame and cause a fire on some. Don't know if that is what you are talking about, but if it is, I would modify with caution. I saw some pics on here of some of the bikes that caught fire, and it wasn't good.

the recall was 2. the main wire so they installed a channel to protect it and the wireing harness that would get cut on sharp edge of the oil tank as the weld on the tank was not smooth. it happened to me. the fix for the oil tank was to place foam over the sharp edge. because the secondary condition was not a saftey issue it was internal fix only. it would blow the main fuse and leave you stranded

Yes this is the wire channel that I am talking about. I don't want to remove them, just find somewhere else to ziptie them too. I guess it's my OCD kicking in.

I'm looking at the CC seat for my 2001 FXSTDI and I'm wondering about the fender cleanup. It's a Deuce and I have the three bolts that support my Deuce specific sissy bar. Anyone found something specific that will cover those bolts for a solo seat?
