Default Anyone installed lowering kit on fatboy

I intend to install the softail lowering kit to my 2007 fatboy, the dealer tells me that the kit will lower the rear of the bike about 1 inch (this is due to the rear of the bike looking too high - classic example of form over function...it's a Harley thing). My questions is:

Do you lose a great deal of cornering ground clearance, as I changed my floorboards to the tapered Deluxe type to pick-up a little more ground clearance. As we have a tendency downunder to ride our bikes fairly hard, it's an Ozzie thing, but it's an international Harley thing for a bike to look right - what a dilema.

Any experiences with this lowering kit would prove to be invaluable to me.

Cheers

You will lose a little bit of ground clearance, but the only way to know for sure how much it will be is to do it. What one person considers riding hard will not the be the same as the next guy. that being said, I prefer my air ride as I can raise it up high enough to where I do not lose any clearance while riding, and can dump when I like. Just go for it, and if you do not like it, find alternative means.

I have mine lowered 2" front and rear had to give up a little aggressive cornering but worth it.
I really don't drag stuff to often, you just got to set the preload a little stiffer when lowered.
