80.00 for the hardware vs 400.00 for the shocks. is the price really worth it
and does the hardware make the ride that much stiffer?
i'm planning going 1" to 1 1/2" lower, the wife will only ride on the rare occasion.
arlenn ness has a kit that has bolts to lower the rear shock
and dampers to lower the front. it drops the bike 2" around.
so its swapping bolts instead of shocks and springs.
I wonder the same thing myself. When buying my FB the stealer said I would get a better ride with the ProfileÂŽ Low Rear Suspension Kit from HD So I did that. The Kit only lower the bike 1 inch, I want to lower it another 3/4. I wonder if I can add the lowering bolts to the shocks, or will these shock adjust lower.
Just my personal opinion, but if you just use the bolts, you will probably need the shocks at a later date anyways, so might as well buy the best pair of lowering shocks that fit your needs from the beginning.
went to the dealers service department today to have my question answerd. They told me that the HD ProfileÂŽ Low Rear Suspension Kit can be modifed to lower my FB more. They recommended the Progressive Suspension lowering kit. They also explained to me in detail how to do it myself. I'm ordering the kit tonight and will let you know. So it looks like I'm gonna have lower shocks and hardware.
