For a point of comparison, I bought my 2000 FB last May with 8600 miles, Stage 1 with Mikuni carb, BUB pipes and a LOT of extra chrome for 10.5K. You can do better if you look around.....

if you like it then go for it. if it makes you happy then go for it. mine is fast approaching 40,000 miles and it is less than 2 years old so i would not worry the milage as much as if it was maintained properly

Here's my dilemma, pay an extra few grand and buy new, and then ON TOP OF THAT, drop alot more to throw on the mods I want, or snag an older bike with a bit more miles(more than a bit, I know , spend a couple bucks to change tires and maybe rims and be set?

My question boils down to this- if it runs GOOD, should I be concerned about miles? Tell me a car has 200k miles on it, and I know wether I'm getting a deal. I have NO CLUE as to how bikes wear with mileage/age.

I have to say, you guys have been great; thank you for being so helpful!

That is a sexy mvthafvcker Bro. I like the spokes, sheese I like whitewalls!!

He is a little up there on the money but he has some cash investered fo' sho'.

The good things it has going for it are the fact that it is an Evo bike which makes lots of cheap Evo era parts available, its carbed and simple wont need hours of dyno time dialing in the EFI everytime you swap pipes, it is easier to work on than the twin cam. Its also slower.

I like that bike.

I dont buy into the wind blowing you around theory. The guy wanted a Deluxe so he turned his fatty into one!

The Softail bikes are so derned versatile. You can literally change it into a 5 distinctly different models by swapping forks, seats, fenders if yer' wallet is fat enough.

Offer the cat $7000 cash.

He may suprise ya. Economy is chit. Folks aint stumbling around with 10 large in pocket looking for 18 year old bikes right now.

Git er' done. Thats a badass Fat-Luxe!!

It is a nice looking bike.
I don't see a ton of chrome on it though.
Yes the EVo has a rock solid bottom end and usually good at least 100k+ miles before needing work, with cams and pipes its not slow,

I also don't like WW's on any bike, Just me...

If he's asking 9k and Ur check book says used bike, try to work him down, depends on how bad he's needing the coin..

Just don't rush in and keep open eyes and mind, there are plenty of used garage Queens around..

It's all over. I'm pulling the trigger

Saw/rode it this weekend. The seller turned out to be a custom bike shop. Though it was DEFINITELY a conflict of interest for them to answer any questions regarding, I called the local HD shop in the area to ask about this custom shop. They had nothing but good things to say.

It's CLEAN, no leaks, ran SMOOTH. My wife went nuts over it, but I'm pretty good at keeping a level head when considering big purchases. I'm only now(3 days later after thinking about it) getting stoked.
