I put on Klock King Menteles, and they are like a wiiide Road King bar.
a little awkward for low speed, maneuvres, but I think they suit the look of my bike.
Not to mention the fact that all of the stock cables, hoses, etc can be used....
I went from the stock deluxe setup to 18" Wild1 phycho chubby apes and would not go back. I'm 6'3 and felt crammed in the cockpit with the stock bar/riser & seat combo. I changed the stock seat also to a C&C moved me back at least 2 inches I finally have the room and comfort I was looking for. Check out the bike pix on my profile.
FYI...I went through Hill Country Customs in Texas for my cables, lines and wiring harness.
$ 255 shipped to me
I installed the wide HD beach bars on my springer classic but switched to short 'apes' after a year or so. Much prefer the apes. They are more comfortable and I think slow speed maneuvering is also improved greatly. At 6' the beach bars had me feeling like a was a kite. I had to reach down and stretch out when riding. But I can see how it all depends on a persons height.
I had drags on my 06 (came with the bike when purchased used) & they killed my back. I went with the low profile Wild Ones 0560's with 14" pullback & I thought they were great until I got the 09 Heritage with HD's new higher mini apes. Well, I have the HD fat mini apes going on the 06 this weekend.
I had 40" beach bars first, and they were very uncomfortable for me, so I went with 16" Carlini Flyin Apes, and I love them.. Here's a crappy cell phone pic..
Well, I decided to go with some beachbars. 1.25" Burly Brand 38.5" just orded today. We'll see how they fit. If they dont work hello apes. Now for some cables. Thank You for the responses
