Question Lowering Crossbones Springer Front End

Any one done it, or found a kit that would do it? I am looking to come down an inch over stock. There are a few posts / threads about lowering springer front ends but the kits I have come across are for the FX models. Crossbones is the FL model.

2 lowering kits I have seen.

Any XB owners used either one or similar?

I would do rockers if at all possible rather than swapping out the good Harley springs for some cheesy bullshat white bro's ones!!

Or maybe call progressive? They make good springs...

Zodiac's got the white bros kit, it specifically states FXSTS 1988 to present so I wouldn't use that one unless I knew someone else with an XB made it work. Custom Chrome also sports the same kit stating FXSTS 1989 to 2005 (except FLSTS models)..

I'm running into a lot of that with these front end lowering kits.

Ya chaz the rocker swap is what I was hoping for until I got the email back from KT today. Seems to me that the Heritage and XB share some lineage. My parts book is suggesting that the Fork assemblies & rocker are circa 2005... so maybe KT is on Crack?

They aint cheap so thats one buy I don't want to have to regret...

Checked out progressive's web site. Short of the front end dampener, they aint got much luv for the springer. Sent them an email anyway...

Moco leaves stuff the same for year and years.

I think KT is tripping.

That Bones front end is without a doubt right outta Moco's big *** parts bin.

Heres what I have done in the past. Go to E-Bay and find a Heriatge springer of 2005 vintage. Find ne that has like 60 photos all big and colorful like straight ****. Find a shot of the front end and look real closely.

Betcha its the same piece.

So digging a little deeper into the Front end lineage to see if the KT kit will work. Lots of the parts on the XB front end are circa 1988, the 'black bits' are circa 2005.

Me thinks that the Heritage FLSTS krome front end was dipped in the PC back stuff and re-partnumbered for the Black version that was introduced on the Springer Classic FLSTSC.

My hold back is that one rocker is a 2005 part and the other is a 2008 part...

I'm not planning on ordering that KT kit unless I can find my answer. The reason I am looking at lowering the front end is that part of my plan is to thow a 21" up front which will bring me about an inch higher. I'd like to bring that back down.

I have a feeling that I won't find many if any that have made this happen on an XB. I have only really found 3 bikes with a confirmed 21" wheel. Two didn't bother with lowering the front and the other looks like he has after market rockers but I haven't found a way to contact him yet.... I might try that angle a liittle harder.

I would rather keep the good HD rockers and change out the springs, which is what I did. If you find that the Burly/White Bros kit will work, their quality is excellent. Nice chrome, etc. Good luck in your search.

So I got a responce back from the one guy who looked like he lowered his XB to compensate for the increased height. I was right in that he does have a 21" and did lower his front end but he had his springer fork and rockers chromed and used the spring kit to lower the front end.

Link to the artical he talks a little about his bike.
Art of the Chopper

Looks like that will be the direction I will go cause I see it works on the XB. I am contacting Burly now too see if they can confirm or deny fitment. Clearly states on their website that it will not fit FLST models...
