I had no idea
I always thought I had a stock air cleaner unit. I bought the bike used and the guy never told me it had a stage 1. I was looking at the harley website and was checking out the stage 1 air cleaner kit and the description said that it comes stock with the 15th anniversary FLSTFI. So I guess my question is, does that mean it already has the download? I guess now I'll have to get some sort of fuel management. This probably explains why my bike runs so hot.
If you have the 2005 Annv Model FLSTFI AE with the factory 95 engine (Stage 1 ) it came with the SE AC Kit, 95 ci pistons and barrels and a different ECM Flash than the 2005 FLSTFI taht came with the 88ci.
It will be badged with tank emblems not decals and arounrd the ignition it says Anniversary Edition as well as on the timing cover and AC trim ring says 95 ci Anniversay, and the oil tank is paintedttoeither black or silver and the bike only came in Black or Silver.
What is confusing is they also made a 88 in 2005 for the Fatboy which is what your bike looks like in the avatar (chrome oil tank and decals on the gas tank) So the SE AC was a add on because it is not the 95 Anniversary Edition
I have a 95 version one and there is no better flash (MAP) than what came from the factory but they still run lean and need a fuel management system,Look into a PC lll , Fue Pak, SERT ect to cool it off and get a little more power. Also it will really wake up with either the 203 or 204 cams in it to make it a Stage 2 95

Harley Motors are much happier in non-epa compliant mode.
Put a set of mellow SE cams and some type of fuel management along with a solid dyno tune.
Your Fatty will suddenly feel....Skinnier?
Thanks for all the info. No there isn't any fuel management installed already. I wish there was 'cause I wouldn't have to buy one. Do you think I've done damage to my motor running it the way it is now? I've put on a fair amount of miles already.
No. It has the stage 1 A/C and aftermarket pipes and no fuel management.

The download that the dealer uses is still an EPA friendly one. I think it richens up just the idle and may bump the Rev limiter a tad?
Who put on the pipes?
I would venture to guess if the original owner put on the AC and pipes he probably had it remapped as well.
If the first guy just did the AC then he probably did not.
You could take it down to the local Harley store and have them download the stage 1 map....Your bike isnt damaged. Its prolly ran a little lean but you should be fine.
Drop the coinage on a SERT. For $450.00 My local dealer installs the SERT and dyno tunes the bike.
Personally I dont like $11.00 an hour kids at the dealer trying to tune my stage 3 build so my bike gets tuned by the local hotshot at the Dynojet place and I use Technoresearch Direct Link tuning software.
Good luck!!!
