Geez, I do not want to be the DICK but you need to use the search on that one. Oil is a personal choice and everyone has an opinion. You can spend all day reading the post and threads on oil. Top three you are going to see around here is AMSoil, Redline and Mobil 1.

Good Luck

I run the synthetic oil in the engine but use Bel Ray for the trans and no wine or clank and I can find neutral. I use Motor Factory® Primary Case Lube in the primary. because Amsoil has gone up so much I just switched to Mobil 1 for vtwin and it works as good. I have 36,000 miles in about 1.5 years and it runs great and no debris in the oil changes.

i run castrol motorcycle oil. works for me. besides i ran castrol in my chevy 454 engine and didnt touch it for 200,000 miles. if its good enough for that then it good enough for my harley. i think the main thing is to change it before it gets past 3,000 miles.

I really like amsoil,.... but its not readily available in my area. So,... I use Mobil 1 V-Twin 20w-50 in the engine and primary and Mobil 1 75w-90 synthetic gear oil in the tranny. I have run it in 4 different Harleys now and its all I run. You will find that its probably the most popular oil used for air cooled engines. It's also pretty easy to find. AutoZone carries both the oil and the gear oil and you can also find the oil at Wal-Mart as well. I wouldnt have a problem running Amsoil or Redline, but neither of those are as easily available in my area, and I really dont want to order my oil.
