Lowering - Aesthetics or Function???
I had the bones lowered before I first took delivery of it, and the main reasons it looks good, I feel if I am in the bike than perched on it, I have scraped the exhaust and boards, so it will be the RSD 2 into 1 when when the pennies permit
Yep, did them myself. I took my time and reread the instructions a lot, so it took about 2 - 3 hours. I had to keep moving the bike lift around on the bottom of the bike to access the different bolts on the shocks. Not hard at all, I had a big a$$ 3/4 crescent wrench and some smaller ones. Get an 11/16 crescent wrench and that's all the tools I needed. The hardest were the two bolts in the back, I put my crescent on them and banged it with a hammer to unlock them and then it was easy.

I put Ultima shocks on my bike this Spring, and lowered it 3''.
It was too much, and was basically sitting down on the stops. I swear you could feel every crack in the road and any little bump in a turn sent me drifting to the edge. It looked GOOD though!
Anyway, brought it up an inch and everything is fine. My wife doesn't enjoy the ride as much, but then she doesn't seem to enjoy much of anything... The only real advantage I've noticed is it's a lot easier to deal with when stopped.
