06 is a great bike fo sho. The heads flow really well, the tensioner shoes tend to last longer and it has the better lighting. Not to mention, the Fatty paint/emblem is far superior to the newer Fattys. The rear fender also flows nicer than the new ones. As the others have said, the motor is barely broke in.
I hope you find that 06 FatBoy as I believe that is one of the best years made being they did change a bit in 07, ie... 200 back tire, 96ci, and a few little other things. I bought mine for 13,000 from a guy that kept it in the garage the whole time and only had 4,900 miles on it. There are deals to be had with this economy, or in my case the guy had bought himself a Road Glide and didn't use the FatBoy any more and didn't see any reason to keep it. Good luck to you jg848!!!
