So what is the big difference between the 1450 Fuel injected Counter Balanced engine (meaning B in the VIN) versus (V) the Twin Cam 88? Or is it simply that one is fuel injected versus carbureated?
I have a shop manual on order because I need to get up to speed on all the techie nuts & bolts. Forgive me if this is a silly, basic question.
The B is rigid mounted to frame, the counter balancer helps to take some of the vibration out of the motor and is found in softail models. The A is rubber mounted, and does not need the balancer as it is rubber mounted found in touring models.

Sporty's ARE rubber mounted, but only the Touring and Dyna models have the rubber mounted 88 inch TwinCam "A" engine.

Right, they are also not TwinCam engines, they are the older EVO design.
