Default Black Fork Sliders for '09 Night Train

Any recommendations for Black Upper and Lower Fork Sliders for '09 Night Train? The HD catalog says part #45719-02 will only fit throu '06 Night Train. I don't see any similar parts that will fit the '09 model. Is it worth jumping to the inverted fork kit? Do any other vendors offer black sliders that will fit the '09?

Thanks!

Pull yours off. Take to local powdercoater. Hand local Powderguy $50.00.

Return to local powderguy in a week. Retrieve freshly Powdercoated sliders.

Install on bike.

Twist throttle and enjoy?

Thats what I did at least...

Yours look great (at least from the picture) but two different people told me to avoid powdercoat - one said it didn't hold up well the other gave no reason. Did you choose powdercoat because you like the look or because there are no other alternatives?

The alternatives would be:

Paint? Which IMO will not hold up as good as PC.

Anodizing? Nice but I have black anodized forks on my dirtbike and they are starting to look hammered and were never as deep and rich as the PC on my Harley.

I dunno what else there is?

PC is tough. Plus you can touch it up with matching black paint if needed.....

I had chrome before. Went a new direction though. Chrome or just the OEM clearcoated aluminum holds up the best of all if thats the driving motivator IMO.

Big scratches in the anodizing on my KTM's fork. No way to touch it up that I know of.

I did mine with rattle can. Sanded the chit out of em, several coats of primer, even more coats of black enamel. We do lots of powder coating at my job, it holds up VERY well if done right. I should of had mine coated when I had the front end tore apart for the lowering job, but I was in a hurry to get it back together so I could ride. If they screw up, I will take em off and powder coat them.

Here are mine:

Thanks. It was actually harder than powder coating them would of been. My only problem so far with it was when I was changing out the handlebars, brake fluid dripped on one. It ate right through the paint before I noticed it was there. The beauty of paint though, I pulled out my trusty black paint pen, you would never know it happened, LOL.

If I wasn't a newb I wouldn't have asked. Looks like black powdercoat is the way to go. What exactly is "rattle canned" ?
