I think I want to give the apes a shot, but I have never rode anything with more than mini-apes (street bob style). Already have a C&C seat on my 07 train which sits me down a little lower. Not sure how tall will be comfortable, so I would like to experiment a little if it is possible to do a bar swap with stock cables & wires. Maybe a smaller set of apes, but play with the riser size a little? Anyways, don't really want to get into swapping everything if I am going to end up either going back to drag bars, or going taller later.
Once you go with the Apes... I don't think you'll wanna go back... Gives you a badass biker attitude feeling... lol or is that just me? LMAO
Oh Yah... cables and wires... is a must! Poly bushings....

+1 on the poly bushings...I did not replcae mine to poly until last month and I've been ridin' the apes for a long time now - can't believe the difference they make. Wish I had switched them over a loooooong time ago.
Poly bushings are a must. I do the 12" Mini's. I'm hooked. I think the look on my face is even differrent when I ride with my mini's. They are the most comfortable bar I have tried to date.
Its not some 1 hour swap-over going to 12" Mini's tho. Prepare yourself for a long day or night of extending and running wires, swapping cables and admiring your finished product!
To do 12's I went like 6" over on my throttle cables and 7 on my brake line this on a 1.5 riser.
I bought a complete set of Cross Bones cables off a fellow member and used the throttles only. Made my own brake line outta the skinny black non-dot parker line for a more minimalist look and my clutch cable is attached to my shift lever so I saved it in case I ever sell and the next guy isnt Jockey Savvy'.
