Had to get some pics up of the new Night Train after the powder coat got done and the upgrades were finished. Bear in mind this bike is only 2 weeks old and has been torn down for the last week with only 480 miles on it. The dyno run netted 74.1 HP and 93.40 Ft Lbs of torque. That is with a Thunder Header 2 into 1, SE Heavy Breather and a Thundermax Auto Tune. They think it will gain a little more once the motor loosens up and the rear belt is adjusted so it isn't so tight. In the pictures you can see the lower forks, Head light, forward controls and the axle covers and the spacers were all powder coated to match the mat finish of the Night Train. Enjoy.
Well I left out the part about it being lowered 1 inch front and back. The dealer lowered the back before I bought it and when I had the front forks apart I had them use a progressive lowering kit in the front.
The only thing I am going to do this year is put on the new Tribal grips and foot pegs and pads. My friend who works on HD's really wants me to put in the new SE 599(?) cams that just came out to see what else we can get out of this motor. I'll keep you posted.
I take back that flack I gave ya' about mags and trains. Ya' proved me wrong.
I'm not mormally a T-Header guy but I'm really diggin yours. In all your mods flowed well and the bike looks good. You deserve it Mang! Thanks for putting your *** on the line and defending our freedoms.
A strong force stands vigil in the night to protect us from the evil men.
I'm a firm believer in the Thunder Header now. The dyno tech was telling me maybe 84 -86 ft lbs of torque and when it came back at almost 94 he was really surprised. The Thunder Header may be a little ugly but it make a deep rumble that is nice at cruise speeds but roars when you get on it and the new black ceramic coating looks good on the NT.
I'm really getting interested in what this 96 will put out with some more basic bolt on engine mods. I think the Thundermax Auto Tune is helping a bit too. It is running way cooler and since they put the inital tune in it hasn't hiccuped or stumbled yet. I'm only getting about 39 mpg but I'm hoping it will get better as the motor breaks in and the auto tune makes more changes.
