Does anyone know the part number for the oil dipstick for a 2005 Deuce? Need to get a new one. Was wondering about maybe getting one of the dipsticks with the thermometer - not the digital ones. Anyone have any ideas on these? Also, I presume since the Deuce is a softail, when a dipstick is advertized to fit a 2000 and up Softail it should work in my Deuce, correct? Thanks for any info.
Yes the dipstick for 2000 and up will fit your bike, and your right not to want the digital.
Some of the digital dip sticks have had, shall we say 'issues'.
The biggest one, and they all have it, is replacing the silly little battery in it.
Everyone who's had to replace theirs has reported that its a royal pain in the butt.
The temp dipstick drove me insane as I was always checking it to see the oil temp. The rubber gasket on it died and I put the stock one back in. No worries now.
Ive got the one with the dial temp gauge. I like it and it fits well. No problems at all. I recently sold my stock stick on ebay for 3 bucks after having no problems with the dial gauge for 2 years.
