I'm getting ready to do my first oil change on my Deuce and the manual says (of course) to use ONLY Harley-Davidson oil. Now, I know they're in the business of selling add-ons and I'm sure the H-D oil is wonderful and if that is truly the only thing I should put in my bike, I will. But, I also know every manufacturer recommends THEIR oil. Ford, Chevy, Mercury Marine, Stihl chainsaws, and Onan generators . . . all of 'em - I get it.
It's out of warranty, now you get to decide depending on the area you live and the temps.
They cant void your warranty just because your using an oil can that doesnt have HD on it. As long as your using the proper api & wt use any brand you like. Whats more important is changing it at a proper interval. Ive been using mobile1 20/50

I've had my warranty void due to the use of SE parts which happened to be installed by the dealer before delivery. No MagnusonMoss Warranty Act outside the USA.
