Thumbs down Not happy with Bones front brake

Took my 09 bones back to the dealer the other day complaining of sponginess in the front brake feel. Dealer rode it and said its OK, but he bled the caliper anyway and did get a bubble out of it. Havent really had much of a chance to try it out yet. But in general I'm not impressed with the brake performance. I know the springer front end dives under braking but does it really have to have a crappy single spot caliper? Dealer has a four spot aftermarket one for springers I can get, but it'll cost me about US$500 to supply and fit. Has anyone upgraded the bones brakes? I think with the fat small front wheel, it would do well with a stronger brake, but I am unwilling to commit until i know more.

Cheers Mark

Almost any brake will give better stopping power than a single piston caliper. Get a PM 4 psiton for the front which is probably what they are referring to for $500 and it will do wonders for your stopping power. I could not imagine having a single piston caliper on the front of such a heavy bike.

Mine works good enough for me. I don't have much dive either.

The bones is a cruiser...not a canyon carver.

I dunno, just the other day, I managed to lockup both the front and the rear brakes in an emergency situation. I was very fortunate not to dump the bike, but I have to ask, how much more do ya need?

I've put about 6,200 miles on my Xbones since I got it a couple months ago and never had a problem with the braking.
