My wife just bought a 05 fat boy. She is 5'-6" and when she sits on the bike her feet are not flat on the ground. She would feel more confident in handling the bike if it were a little lower. Anyone know any tricks to lowering it?

I have been thinking about the same and I have read this forum inside out on this issue.. I am 5'4" waiting to get my fatboy (I have not bought it yet..this winter though) but from what I have read here .. try to go the meancity way.. they would be able to shave the seat and try lower it by 1-2 inches also they can move her forward ... that should be enough..I dont think she should have any issues with her height .. good riding shoes and a mean city modified seat should do the job..
+ 1 on the seat first. I like C & C Seats www.ccseats.com call Chuck and he will custom fit it for her and they are more comfortable IMO than stock.
Second Id lower the bike , I went with Progressive 422 shocks and think it not only lowered the bike (adjustable from stock to 2 lower) but improved the handling
My husband is soooo sweet! I am 5'4" NOT 5'6" (I wish)
So we went to the dealership and the guy had me sit on that seat you were talking about (Le pera whatever seat). I was like wtf?!! It's so hard! lol He said I would break it in over time. *yeah right!* I asked the guy to find me a nice comfy seat which was still narrow and voila, they found it. It was an extra $100 but well worth it. I also got it lowered just an inch and now it is perfect!

Thanks for all of your help!
Glad you found a seat. Do you know what model it is?
