Cable lengths for 13" apes on 04' Fatboy?
I realize this subject has probably been repeated dozens of times, however, I hate to screw up the measurements (too long and/or too short) regarding new cables for 13" ape hanger bars on my 04' Fatboy which I intend to install soon. Stock riser height.
I'll be ordering the Magnum "sterling chromite" types - throttle, idle, clutch and brake line. What would be your recommendation of cable lengths? I realize I could measure with string, wire, etc., but your testimonies provide that confident.
Thanks,
NICK

The stock FLSTF has a 7 inch rise and 11 inch pullback. Not knowing what your 13 inch apes have as far as pullback is concerned, and not knowing what routing your going to use once you go to braided cables, I'd advise +6 to +8 over stock.

I purchased the handlebar/controls/switches/wiring combo from Demon Cycles today. They're 13" apes with a 10" backward sweep and 34" wide @ handles.
I called Wild One and the gentleman mentioned +4" for clutch and +6" for brake and throttle - for use on their 14" apes w/ stock risers. I haven't compared the Wild One sweep setbacks to Demon's bars yet; however, these measurements given are consistent with other installations throughout the forums.
I may mount the bars this weekend to achieve a more accurate reading of the desired cable length.
Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated.
NICK
