I'm not looking to adjus the clutch, just
looking for how to take up the extra play in the cable without adjusting the entire cable at the primary...if it is possible? Is there some way to accomplish this on the cable?
Thanks,
GEESE
On the cable there should be a threaded piece with a jam nut....I don't know what it is called but on a bicycle it is called a barrel adjuster so I'll call it that.
When you loosen this it acts like lengthening the housing which shortens the cable.
Easy adjustment but leave a little slack so you are not riding the clutch. 1/8 of an inch I think I read somewhere.
But, I should warn you I have only owned a bike for a month so don't listen to me.
Yup, follow your clutch cable and there will be a rubber boot halfway down your down tubes below the neck. Pull that rubber boot down and the adjustment nut is exposed. Back of the lock nut and adjust to your liking.
