Hey anyone else had a burnt out Stator? My '04 Softail wasn't charging and the fault was finaly located as a grounded Stator, when stripped, 4 segments had burnt out completely, heavy downer[sm=sigh.gif]! My ride has only 6,000 miles on it, am I the only unlucky one out there[sm=bangbang.gif]?

 

Mine gave out as well - broken wire shorted the stator. Had 51000 miles on it at the time. I'm not a wrench so it was a major pain to fix. Service manual shure helped.

Mine went on my '98 Heritage Springer one year after I bought it new. I thought this was just an isolated thing being that it was practically new, and i am surprised that it is still happening. I guess they haven't figured out how to keep them going yet, or maybe they are just cheap stators to begin with.
