Default Softail baffle question

Hello ,I have a 2005 softail deluxe. I have vance and hines big radius pipes on it . I took out the baffles and been riding that way for a while . Of course everyone thinks it`s too loud . I like it loud but it sounds un tuned , which I know is because the baffles are out .... so my question is can I cut my baffles down , or maybe in half. to make it a little more quieter but still sound loud . I could cut down like 2 inches at a time I guess . I would like it loud yet sound tuned ... kinda like want my cake and eat it to....lol. Any suggestions would help .....thanks

I disagree about needing it tuned each time, if all you're doing is changing the exhaust, unless you've changed intake as well.

Pull the baffles on my 2004 EFI Fat Boy all the time with no retuning. Runs just fine.

No retuning is needed, but you might want to check out Thunder City baffels. They are loud, but have a bit of a reverse pressure effect to enhance your low end power a little.

Go with Thunder Monsters bigcitythunder.com They blow both the stock baffled sound and the unbaffled sound away. Awesome product. Great customer service.

i have 12 in baffles at 1.75 inside, 5 in baffles at 1.75 inside and 10 in baffles at 2.5 inside.
i have high end power only with the 10 in and lots of low with the 12 in but the loudness and both low and high power were with the 5 in. i have auto tune but i can tell you the change in the baffle caused a retune.
