Default Oil spot

I am noticing a drop of oil on the floor directly under the area where the forks attach to the frame. The oil is running out of the frame neck which is heavily greased. The bike has 2000 miles on it. I have had to clean excess oil & grease off the neck and off my engine which I understand is normal for new bikes. Now after the bike sits for a while (I travel a lot so it sits for weeks sometimes) I notice a small drop of oil on the floor. Just wanting to know if this is normal. thanks

Just spoke to a dealer about the spot. It is as I suspected. Due to the temp. here in TX (90+ degrees) , the grease in the frame neck is melting a little and dripping on to the floor. No worries.

Glad it was nothing serious. Keep an eye on it though. Sometimes I get the feeling that dealers will say anything to get out of warranty repair work.

Wait a sec there. I live in houston and yes it is getting warm here but i ride every day to and from work and park under a metal roof which makes it hotter right? And have never seen any oil or grease from mine bike and it has over 14,000 miles on it.. I would check with another dealer.. You should not have any leaks with only 2000 miles on it...Sounds like to me that the dealer just told you that to make you feel better and not to really check out the bike... Just my 2 cents...
