Measure the battery when starting. If it's bad, it will drop down to only a few volts.

12.7 volts sitting there..and like pbasz said, when you hit start, does it drop down to like 4 volts?

I do find it odd that you tried jumping it and it didnt start, so might be something else. Loose negative or loose ground to the frame can cause that also.

OK, it appears u guys were correct. Went to autozone got load test done-battery charge was weak. I just bought this battery about 3 months ago (interstate set me back about 100$). Going to get a new one this weekend. I hope this works. Guess i shoud invest in a battery tender. Guess i should have listened to what everyone was telling me-oh well, live and learn!

you might want to check and make sure your regulator or stator are good that might be killing your new battery

makes sense to find the reason rather then just throwing on a new battery

I'm still gonna take it to my mechanic for a look, but at least I can ride it to the shop! Oh sh-t, I forgot i haven't installed the battery yet-may not even work! Perhaps i spoke too soon-i'll find out this weekend. Thanks for all your help.
