Default Which XENA Disc Lock for FLSTSCI?

Hey All,

For those in the know in regards to XENA Disc-Lock Alarms, I was wondering if anyone knew for sure which models would fit on the rotors of a 2006 Softail Springer Classic.

According to their fitment chart, most every HD can use the XN18, XN15, XR1/ZR1 and XN14, even though the lock models have different gap lengths.

They don't exactly have a Springer Softail Classic listed in their HD models. The closest they've got is the "Slinger Softail".

Thought I'd check and see what the knowledge here was on that. Probably give the company a call as well. I just don't want to be told by the company that any model will work if there happens to be a particular model that will actually be the best fit.

And has anyone actually sprang the extra $150 to get the XN18 Nightmare model?

Thanks,
pan

I did a little research and purchased the XN15. It fits nice, was not as expensive as the XN18, and functions well. My only complaint is the batteries don't last long and the alarm sensitivity is not adjustable (not sensitive enough IMHO). Purchase and carry extra batteries and don't ride off before removing the lock.

Cool, thanks. As for the sensitivity adjustment, according to the manual you adjust by placement / position on the disc. Did it make much difference whether you mounted it in the 12 o'clock / 3 or 9 o'clok / 6 o'clock positions as the manual mentioned for adjustment?

I've mounted from 9 o'clock to 6 o'clock with little noticable difference in sensitivity. It is difficult to mount higher than 9 or 3 o'clock.

Great thanks. I'll probably go with the XN15 then. BikerBone.com has a "free battery pack plus free battery replacements for 3 years" deal right now.
