Hi, just ordered my overly expensive Roland Sands 12" vintage ape hangers for my Cross Bones because everything else close is sold out till X'Mas. Can anyone tell me whether the stock cables and wiring is going to be long enough or will I have to swap out. Anyone got any photos of these bars on an FLSTSB they could share? Much apprecaited from Sydney, Down Under
you will get away with the stock wiring and cables......just!
what you will have to change are the stock risers...... they dont grip these bars very well and to get them to stay you have to tighten them to such an extreme it ruins the paint underneath and will strip the threads.
change them out to 3" rsd risers you need a stud adaptor also but i can give you a part number for it
thanks gents, if the stock wiring and cables can fit, how hard is it to swap out the bars? Is it simply a case of removing the grips, unscrewing the switch gear with everything still attached, removing the stock bar from teh risers and then putting in the new bar and re-attaching the switch gear with cables still attached. As for wiring, can you disconnect somewhere, insert into the RSD bars and then simply reattach again?
Obviously never done it before but how hard is it?
