The grease is normally thick enough to hold form. After you park a hot engine, the heat from the engine rises and heat the grease. It softens up and even melts somewhat. An old Harley guy once told me "If your Harley don't leak then it ain't got no oil in it".

Yep I asked it and even Called Harley to complain But got told (quote) Its Normal and that's that. I got a bit pissed
I still think they can put a better grease in there HOW BOUT MARINE GREASE it sure the hell don't melt

same thing on my 05 train,neighbors 05 fatboy and other neighbors clasic. I would think H-D could do better than this. Dealer checked out and everything normal.
